## How do I rent a GPU with crypto?

1. **Get an account number** — No email needed, no ID, no card. Your account number is how you sign in, so store it carefully. With an optional email on file you can recover it; with no email, a lost number is gone for good.
2. **Top up in crypto** — Send at least $25 in BTC, USDT, USDC, ETH, SOL, LTC. The balance is credited after the network confirmations.
3. **Pick a GPU and start it** — Instances have 1 to 8 GPUs depending on the host. Before you start, the dashboard shows each host’s country, GPU count, form factor (SXM or PCIe) and interconnect. Stock changes through the day: the dashboard shows which GPUs are free right now, and nothing is charged until an instance starts.
4. **Connect over SSH** — Each instance gives you whole GPUs, never a time-shared slice or a MIG partition. You get root SSH access to Ubuntu with the NVIDIA driver, CUDA and PyTorch installed, or start from your own Docker image. Instances are billed per minute at the hourly rate while they run, from the GPU-hours you bought for that GPU. Stopping an instance stops the charge at once.

## What you get with every GPU

- **On-demand, not spot** — Instances are on-demand, not spot: nobody can take your GPU back while your balance covers it, and the instance runs until you stop it.
- **Billed per minute** — Stop the instance and the GPU charge stops. GPU-hours are sold in blocks of 10, 24, 168 or 720 hours for one GPU model, at the same hourly rate; instances of that GPU draw from them per minute, and unused hours never expire.
- **Clear refund rule** — If an instance fails to start or its GPU does not work and support cannot fix it, the hours it used go back to your balance.
- **Human support** — A person answers support emails within 12 hours, seven days a week, and helps you start, size and stop your GPU instances.

## Questions before you rent

### Do I need ID or a credit card to rent a GPU here?

No. You sign in with an account number and pay in crypto: no ID, no selfie, no card, no work email. The [acceptable use policy](https://gpuwithcrypto.com/acceptable-use/ "Acceptable use policy") still applies to every account.

### Which GPU clouds accept crypto?

According to GPUwithCrypto's check of 29 October 2026, 14 of the 33 GPU providers we checked accept crypto, and RunPod asks for KYC before the first crypto payment. The [comparison of GPU clouds that accept crypto](https://gpuwithcrypto.com/rent-gpu-with-crypto/ "Which GPU clouds accept crypto?") lists coins, processors and ID rules.

### Is this cheaper than spot or marketplace GPUs?

Not always. Marketplace and spot GPUs can cost less per hour, but the host or the provider can take the GPU back. Our prices are compared with on-demand prices, where the GPU stays yours while your balance covers it.

### Which GPU do I need for my model?

It depends on the model size and precision. A 70B model in FP16 needs about 168 GB with overhead: four H100s (320 GB) or two H200s (282 GB). In FP8 it needs about 84 GB and fits on one H200. The [VRAM guide](https://gpuwithcrypto.com/how-much-vram-do-i-need/ "How much VRAM do I need to run or fine-tune an LLM?") has the table and the formula.

### What can I not do with a rented GPU?

No cryptocurrency mining, no password or hash cracking, no attacks on other systems (DDoS, scanning, exploitation), no malware, no spam, no child sexual abuse material, no intimate or deceptive images of real people without their consent, no weapons development and no work for sanctioned people or companies.
