What are cheaper or more reliable Vast.ai alternatives?

Vast.ai is a GPU marketplace: hosts list offers, and the cheapest ones are hard to beat. People look elsewhere for three reasons: a B200 or H200 at a lower price, a fixed on-demand price instead of a host's offer, or paying in crypto without a credit card.

Quick answer

What are cheaper or more reliable Vast.ai alternatives?

Cheaper Vast.ai alternatives are rare: on 29 October 2026, Vast.ai's lowest marketplace offer was below the lowest on-demand list price we found for 6 of 7 GPUs, all but the B200. For more reliable, fixed on-demand prices instead of host offers, look at Massed Compute (H100 $2.73), Thunder Compute (A100 80GB $1.09), RunPod Secure Cloud or GPUwithCrypto, this page's publisher, which rents GPUs for crypto with no KYC and no card.

Which Vast.ai alternatives are cheaper, on-demand or crypto-friendly?

Disclosure: GPUwithCrypto publishes this page and lists itself first. Prices are each provider's lowest self-serve price per GPU-hour on its own pricing page or price API, read on 29 October 2026; marketplace and bid prices are labelled. Crypto and ID facts come from each provider's billing docs or terms. 'No ID step documented' means the docs we read mention none, not a promise.

Which Vast.ai alternatives are cheaper?

Few, and mostly for big data-center GPUs. According to GPUwithCrypto's price check of 29 October 2026, Vast.ai's cheapest rentable offer was below the lowest self-serve on-demand list price for the H100, H200, A100 80GB, L40S, RTX 4090 and RTX 5090. Where alternatives win:

  • B200: Vast.ai's lowest offer was $7.50. Massed Compute ($5.43 per GPU in an 8-GPU node), RunPod Community Cloud ($5.98), Hyperbolic ($5.99) and Lambda ($6.69 per GPU, 8 GPUs) were lower. GPUwithCrypto: $4.61/hour.
  • Spot and preemptible tiers: Nebius listed preemptible H100 and H200 from $0.79 and B200 from $0.99. Jarvislabs listed H100 spot at $1.54 and H200 spot at $2.29.
  • H200: Vast.ai's lowest was $3.00 for an H200 NVL, against $3.62 on-demand at Massed Compute. GPUwithCrypto: $3.07/hour.

For consumer cards, Vast.ai's depth is hard to beat: its feed listed 970 rentable RTX 5090 offers and 562 RTX 4090 offers on 29 October 2026.

Which Vast.ai alternatives are more reliable?

This page does not rank uptime: our research covers prices, billing, crypto and ID rules, not measured reliability. What we can compare is the model.

Vast.ai is a marketplace. Hosts list offers, and price and hardware vary by listing. Its public price feed does not separate on-demand from interruptible offers, so check the offer type before a long run.

Fixed on-demand alternatives sell one list price per GPU, set by the provider:

  • Thunder Compute says its instances are 'never preempted'.
  • Salad's High Priority tier is never preempted; its Batch tier is the most interruptible.
  • RunPod Secure Cloud is RunPod's on-demand tier; Community Cloud runs on community-hosted machines.
  • Hyperbolic says failed instances are not charged.
  • GPUwithCrypto: Instances are on-demand, not spot: nobody can take your GPU back while your balance covers it, and the instance runs until you stop it. If an instance fails to start, the hours it used go back to your balance.

Which Vast.ai alternatives take crypto without a credit card?

Vast.ai takes crypto through BitPay and Crypto.com, but its billing FAQ says credit is added after a credit card and an email are verified. The docs do not say whether crypto-only top-ups skip the card. It does not refund credits bought with crypto.

Of the 33 GPU providers we checked on 29 October 2026, 14 accept crypto. The ones that describe a sign-up without a card:

  • GPUwithCrypto: account number only, email optional, BTC, USDT, USDC, ETH, SOL, LTC from $25. No ID, no selfie, no card.
  • Akash Network (Console Air): no account; you connect a self-custody wallet and pay in AKT. Its managed Console takes cards only.
  • Spheron: a verified email to sign up, then USDC on six chains, $50 minimum in crypto.
  • Salad: an organization account and a billing address, then USDC, USDT or RENDER on Solana from a Solflare wallet. Crypto payments are not refunded.

Massed Compute takes Bitcoin but asks for a payment method before the first VM. RunPod takes crypto after KYC. More: renting a GPU without a credit card and Does Vast.ai accept crypto?.

When is Vast.ai still the better choice?

When the lowest price matters more than a fixed one, and you can vet a host. Vast.ai had the cheapest single offers for most GPUs on 29 October 2026, the deepest RTX 4090 and RTX 5090 supply, per-second billing, and reserved terms of 1, 3 or 6 months at 'up to 50% off'. It runs 40+ data centers by its own count.

Pick an alternative when you need a B200 for less, a list price that does not change between rentals, or crypto payment without a card. The side-by-side figures are in RunPod vs Vast.ai; our own prices are on the pricing page.

Questions about Vast.ai alternatives

What is cheaper than Vast.ai?

For most GPUs, nothing on-demand: Vast.ai's lowest offer beat every on-demand list price we found on 29 October 2026, except for the B200. Spot and preemptible tiers go lower on big cards, for example Nebius preemptible H100 from $0.79.

Is Vast.ai reliable?

Vast.ai is a marketplace, so the hardware and terms depend on the host and the offer, and its price feed mixes on-demand and interruptible listings. We do not rate uptime. For a fixed on-demand price, look at Thunder Compute, RunPod Secure Cloud, Massed Compute or GPUwithCrypto.

Does Vast.ai accept crypto?

Yes, through BitPay and Crypto.com, per its billing docs read on 29 October 2026. Credits bought with crypto are not refunded. Details: Does Vast.ai accept crypto?.

Do I need a credit card to use Vast.ai?

Its billing FAQ says credit can be added after you enter a credit card and an email and both are verified. The docs do not say whether crypto-only top-ups skip the card. GPUwithCrypto needs no card at all.

Is GPUwithCrypto cheaper than Vast.ai?

Not against Vast.ai's lowest offers: those were below our price for every GPU except the B200 on 29 October 2026. GPUwithCrypto sells a fixed on-demand price, at least 15% under a named on-demand reference read on 29 October 2026, paid in crypto with no KYC.
